Truck able to pull Nitro boat?
I have a 1995 Toyota Tacoma extended cab 2wd w/ the 2.4L 4 cylinder; a friend of mine has a 17′ 2008 Nitro z-6 bass boat and I was wondering if my truck is capable of pulling this boat. I think I am fine to pull it, but wondering about the tongue weight and whether or not this exceeds my truck’s capacity.

check the towing capacity in the owners manual…that ain’t the lightest boat in the world, and that 4-cylinder ain’t the strongest tow vehicle either, but any truck built for towing had ought to be able to pull a bass boat.

If your truck has 5,000 lbs of towing capacity, it’ll handle that boat with plenty room to spare. If it only has 3,000 then it’s gonna be close, I’d hesitate to try it without weighing the rig first (with full fuel tanks).

Tongue weight on a boat is usually 5 to 7% of the total trailer weight.

Fishing supplies and Bass fishing help?
Alright, so I am an avid spin-reel fisherman. The main game fish I go for is Trout, but am trying to move onto Bass (possibly Northern Pike in the future). I use a lot of basic stuff to fish for Trout, but what would I need for bass? Here’s a list of equipment I use:

    Removable Split Shot (Medium)

    1/8, 1/4, 1/2 Bell Weights

    Eagle Claw Snells (Sizes: 12, 8, 6, 4)

Berkely Powerbait (Rainbow, Turbo Dough, Sherbert, ect.)

    Roe

Line (Based on 3 Rods: 6lb Test, 8lb Test, 15lb Test (for trolling) all Trilene Dark Green)

Lures (Thomas Cyclone, trying out Kastmaster, Jake’s Lure, Panther Martin Spinners, Mepps Spinners, Deep Runners, Rattlers, Poppers, and sometimes Rapala)

    Large, Medium, Small Canadian Nightcrawlers

Floats and Bobbers (don’t use often)

    Swivels

Line Type: Monofilament (I have Flourocarbon but haven’t used it yet)

Eagle Claw Nitro Eggs (haven’t caught jack with yet :/)

    Green Label Salmon Eggs

SO, what can I change or use more for Bass? I’m only 15, so I don’t have like a boat or things like that, though I do try to use professional sources. Any accurate answer will work, and be honest. Thanks.

can my truck pull this boat?
My truck is a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500, 3.7ltr v6, reg cab, RWD, manual trans, 215 hp and 235 lb-ft of torque and 3800 max tow when properly equip.

Ok well I really want a fishing boat. like a small fresh water bass boat like from nitro or tracker. nothing big but it will prbably have a max weight between 2000-3000lbs probly on the lower side of that. Anyway, would my truck be able to tow that out of the water after a day fishing. with coolers n gear n a wet guy.

what if i turbo it? i really like the truck and dont want to have to buy a new one to get the boat because that would just be 2 new things n i dont think my wife would go for that.
