Bait Fishing: Crappie Fishing In The Fall And Winter Details Here!

by Mark Fleagle

Bait fishing for crappie in the fall can sometimes be very confusing. As the water starts to cool the crappies normal feeding and living patterns are unpredictable. Patterns you were anticipating and using in the late summer months may not work in the fall. The bait fish have stopped spawning so there is more competition for the remaining bait fish. The fact can actually work to your advantage, there are a few facts about bait fishing for crappie in the fall that you need to study on first.

It is true that the bait fish will be larger and you would think that you would need increase your crappie jig size in this fishing situation to match the size of the crappie's food source and in many occasions you would be right. But what you need to understand in the late fall as the water temperature continues to drop, that the crappie's metabolism will drop. and the crappie will not chase your crappie jigs unless you use a very slow bait fishing presentation.

Now I am going to tell you something that goes against your logic and what you would normally do when the food source for the crappie is at a larger size. In the later fall and winter you can use smaller jig sizes or use some method to slow way down your larger crappie jigs. The reason many crappie anglers use a smaller bait fishing presentation such as small jigs is because they float downward through the water at much slower pace and perfect for the slow and sluggish crappie in the late fall and winter months.

OK I Mentioned above briefly that you can still use larger crappie jigs as your bait fishing method but they need to worked in the water very slowly. If you are going to fish for crappie with a larger crappie jig then you need to use a heavier line because heavy line sinks much slower in the water. Also you a slip bobber to fish in deeper water.

Also, When you catch your first crappie clean the fish and see what the crappie has been eating so you can get a good idea of what the size of the bait fish are they are eating.

Well folks that concludes my article about bait fishing for crappie in the fall and winter I sincerely hope the information here has been helpful, Have A Nice Day!

what do you think of my song?
(all quiet except for the drum beat)

Riding a horse made of Cyprus trees,
Clicking up a tree robbing its leaves
Sailing on a raft throughout the seven seas
I know something you don’t know
It takes a seed for an ounce to grow
    Ashes, Burbank, new york fire
Looking into my lyrics becoming a liar
    Joking jokers smoking smoke
Got the drug addicts doing dope
    Logging on myspace
    Lines of Coke
    Green Geometry patterns
    But no one is reading
    I hear your ear bleeding

(tambourine enters here along with bass and guitar)

    I lack uniformity
    I have a disease
I am curing myself with out the aid of leaves
No ergot or caffeine, no pot that smokes
No sparks that fly out of the dope

I don’t make sense, so help me shout
My friends love life, but I want out
Penguins in the artic, complain no more
They have submarines that line across the shore
Stealing all their fishes, fucking with their bitches
    Radio head gets no play
Hollywood lies when they tell you that you are gay
Words with a meaning, meanings that lie
    Look into them, marmalade pie
Steel bends water, water rusts iron
    Brown note dark matter
    I am in a rut
    Listen to my story
    And don’t give a fuck
You buy albums cuz they are clever and witty
And the one on the cover looks so pretty
How can I make it, if you all cant relate
I live in America, pile more on my plate

    They say I am wrong
And then they call it fate
I am here but my mind is late
I want to rise but I’m falling all over
I have little luck, no four leaf clover

(really slow and soft/hard to hear)

They say all pot smokers live in Amsterdam
They say all the terrorists follow islam
They said all the jews were to blame
They made them look all insane
Repeated offences made in the past
We conquered time but it never lasts
We still have shotguns that make the blasts
We still have lawyers that help us make the dash
We bribe the police to make that cash
We lie in many civilizations caught this clash
How can you sleep at night?

    (all resumes here)

    Back to the song
    Did you think I forgot
Were you glad that I drifted
Did it faze you a lot?
    Did it boggle your mind
Until you were all messed up
    Do still even care
    About King tut?
    Hello little crucifix
    Piecing through jesse’s lips
And he don’t know about those
    Hieroglyphics
    Too complex
    He has a complex
    In a duplex
    Rip that spandex
    Wear that rolex
    Got it in my car
    You know where you are
    Mama where I’m a star

    (guitar solo *slide guitar recommended)
(drums overlap to compliment the solo)
(vocalizing over the slow part of the solo)
(bass tunes out to show the solo in its entirety)
(tambourine stops then enters after solo)

    Yet they say
    I am reckless brother,
    That I cant even relate
I cant exercize or stay in shape
That I spend my time doing drugs that listen
I forgot the bathroom, I’m gonna piss in the kitchen
I forgot the chorus so I lead to the end
The little path by the bedroom to the den
Riddled with roses, and ballons and such
Everything I knew, its all run amuck
Life goes on all because of a little buck
I pour out my soul and my feeling for this shit
I love everything but life has me in a flint
Between two stones, pressed against me hard
I want to fight back but hands are barred
Steppin on glass those little shards
I’m all tied up, in the front yard

    When the tv was on
    They had me preoccupied
Look around you, they all have lied
So Tonight, tonight, is the end
I say unto you, G’night my friend

(slowly fade away then combine all together really quick for 2-5secs)

I Really like it, but in the paragraph about da penguins and how hollywood lies it gets a little confusing but nobody cares nowadays about confusion so it is overall a great song

Why does Ginger Fish Take it Sweet?
The drummer from Marilyn Manson has had these injuries inflicted whilst being in the Band

    * On September 7, 1996, during a performance of the song “1996″ at a Nothing Records showcase dubbed “Night of Nothing”, held at Irving Plaza in New York City, Manson became increasingly agitated by Fish’s playing, made several obscene gestures towards him, and finally aborted the song mid-way through the first chorus and threw a mic stand at Fish, striking him in the side of the head, bringing the show to an abrupt end. The rest of the band left the stage, except Ginger, who managed to claw his way halfway from behind the kit before collapsing to the stage. After paramedics bandaged most of his head, Fish was able to walk, assisted, out of the venue and into an ambulance to the hospital; he received 8 stitches over his left ear and physical therapy on his neck and right arm. Though this was Fish’s first major injury, it was far from being his last, or worst; Manson apparently took offense to his drummer’s collapse and made a point of cutting or bruising him on subsequent shows.
    * Shortly after, in Orlando, during the equipment destruction part of the set, a guitar smashed with full strength into Fish’s hand; fortunately nothing was broken in this case besides the guitar.
    * In June 1998 the band’s proposed tour of seven European summer music festivals (starting in Denmark 25 June) was canceled when Ginger was diagnosed with mononucleosis, commonly known as ‘Kissing Disease’. The remaining band members finished the Mechanical Animals album without him.
    * Near the beginning of Rock is Dead (tour), Fish tore a ligament in his right knee (while physical therapy was continuing on his right arm from the previous incident), forcing him to abandon double bass playing lest his knee pop out of joint; on the occasion when Manson decided to break Fish’s kit, he would be forced to hop, one-legged, out of the way. Ginger played every night despite being mostly unable to walk until a month before the end of the tour.
    * On the Guns, God and Government tour, Fish’s drum tech became fed up with Manson’s constant trashing of the drums and attempted to put an end to the practice by strapping them to the riser. In November 2000, at the Hammerstein ballroom in New York City, Manson met the new resistance by simply breaking the straps. The extra force caused the entire kit to catapult off the three-foot riser, Ginger going along for the ride. When he landed, he broke his collarbone. Unable to cancel the tour, he moved his hi-hats to the left and played with his wrists as much as possible (despite a doctor’s order to not move the arm for six weeks), from the gig in Detroit two days later until the tour completed.
    * A month after this incident, a disc in his back herniated, causing his main (left) foot to not respond properly and go numb at random moments. He trained himself to play with his right foot and started using more double-bass patterns to keep his feet moving. When the tour completed, he had back surgery done, but his foot was never the same again.
    * On September 24, 2004, during an awards show broadcast on live TV from Cologne, Germany, at the end of a performance of the new single Personal Jesus, Ginger fell from the back of his drum riser and then off the very high stage, and was taken immediately to the hospital, bleeding and concussed. The awards show was delayed twenty minutes; when Ginger woke up, the band had left the country, with Chris Vrenna playing live drums for the remainder of the year-long tour.

alot of the time its Manson himself that hurts gingerfish, why does Ginger put up with it??

This is my take on it… Ok, when you join MM, you have to be willing to go all the way. I think Manson incorporates the violence he did into onstage performance b/c it was essential to his philosophy at the time.

But why toward GF, you may ask? Well, from what I read, GF and MM didn’t like each other at first, for whatever reason. Maybe MM was sort of challenging GF because he thought the guy was too weakwilled and didn’t want another Daisy or Zim Zum. Maybe he was sort of saying,”Ok motherfucker, you wanna be in this band with me? Can you take what we’re about? Are you willing to go deep?” Marilyn Manson is something you have to live and breathe; MM expected everyone to participate in the band’s ideology, which included all sorts of depravity and abuse.

I think GF took what MM dished out b/c obviously he knew what the band was about from the beginning. They abused each other, their fans, themselves. They wanted to see how far they could go in all aspects of things. Obviously Ginger Fish, a drummer that went to school for music and even played jazz at one time, didn’t just decide to audition for MM b/c he likes hard rock with a dark bent. He is still in the band because he wanted to be a part of Marilyn Manson, and that is very different from playing in a hard rock, industrialish band. There are tons of bands he could have played with, but he chose MM, and that means that he expected the abuse.

I think Ginger Fish has some sort of a death wish. I see him as someone who will play and play and play til his arms drop off. I doubt he likes being hit in the head or being made to hop on one foot, but he obviously values the experience of MM as a whole and is willing to take the abuse. I think he feels the need to test himself in an extreme way. I don’t think any other bands that made it as big as MM would pose the possibility of serious injury toward him every night. He likes the risk, he likes the extremism of the band. At least, that’s my take on it.

On a further note, he seems very sweet in person. Manson is sort of a dick, maybe he likes messing with GF? Who knows! At any rate, GF is an excellent drummer and kicks total ass!!!
