   what are some good crankbaits for walleye and bass in the youghagheney river in western,PA?

     Big, large lipped crank baits for a lot of wobble, use fat ones that go between 12 and 25 feet (depending on how deep the water is) and use a rather natural color. hope i was of some help =]

   what crankbaits and colors are best for daytime walleyes and which are best for night time walleyes?

     I personally have had great luck on 2 different Rapala lure
     Shad rep # 8 and #9 in shad color for clearer water. For stained water go to the crawdad colors.
     The best trolling lure have been J13 jointed minnows in Chartruese, Red, and Silver and black. I have used the J’s at night as they have a more seductive action.
     While walleyes will eat perch, they will choose a softer ray bait
     first, like cisco’s and whitefish
     Stay with good 8 lb test to get maximum depth from your lures

   In clear water does hook color on crankbaits matter?
   Trout can see 10x compared to humans and Walleye can see at night. Crankbaits imatate minnows .which color hook bronze, gold, black crome, crome, or red?

     Not really a crankbait is usually struck by the feed or kill instinct unlike a worm where as a fish may follow a lure for a time before it picks it up.
     But it some cases not yet proven certain times hook flash may spook any fish!

   How deep do lipless crankbaits go?
   I want to fish a sexy shad lipless crankbait in 20 ft deep water. Will it reach 20 ft???? If not what should i use to catch walleyes in 20 ft deep water besides trolling or jigging?????
   Also how fast/slow should i retrieve it???
   What ounce should i get?????

     If you need to make a diving crank go deeper use a 10-12LB Fluro leader, a swivel and a 1/4-1/2 OZ worm weight- http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_7566_100010003_100000000_100010000?cmCat=CROSSSELL_SEARCH

     This rig looks similar to a Carolina Rig.

     You can also use split shot or a rubber weight.

     To be honest, I’d def try jigging at that depth if your not gonna troll.

     For a lipless Crank?- Lipless Cranks sink, so count to 19-20 slowly and you will be at 20 ft, (they generally sink at 1FT per sec).

   walleye fishing, crankbait size?
   just getting opinions, would you agree that bigger crankbaits will be more attractive for bigger walleye ? I have great luck with x-rap shad raps, I used to use number 6 a 2 1/2 in. shad but I just today b ought some number 8′s, 3 1/4 shad. I have heard somewhere that bigger cranks will land bigger fish so I thought I’d try it, there not overly huge or anything. What is your opinion , experience with this subject ?

     Earlier in the season I use a #5 but latley I switched to #7 shadraps and X raps. I pickup up a 28 inch eye with a #7.
