Best bass tackle but cheap price?
In need to fill up my tackle box full of the cheapest and best lures. what do u think is the best baits, crankbaits, and Soft plastics for bass are and the best tackle box?
you definitely want a good assortment of plastic worms..get some spinner baits..and a few raplas..also a few top water lures.. that should start you out..
The only way to get a decent discount is to either buy “used” lures off of EBay or start going to garage sales.
I’ve used EBay quite a few times and it is great. I’ve bought “lots” of 6-8 used Rapala/Heddon/Cotton Cordell/Rattle Trap lures and have saved TONS of money VS the BEST sale at Bass Pro/Cabelas/Walmart.
But you can score a GOLDMINE of quality lures at garage sales! Brand name $6-$7 lures for $.50! Tackle boxes FULL of lures for $10!!!!!
If your REALLY hungry to get great lures cheap and have the time to go driving around, go garage “picking”! In 1 afternoon you could save yourself hundred’s of dollars!!!
A bunch of lures to select to catch some bass, and panfish?
Some good, and cheap bass or panfish lures? I will fish with Lots of curly tailed grubs, Plastic Worms, Spinnerbaits and a couple small bass crankbaits for them 12 inch bass . What are some good brands for those?
l’ve used the bass pro shops brand with great results. they have a good size and color assortment. l like their 8 and 10″ model in black on a 4/0 or 5/0 hook for night fishing. robo worms are good but a bit more costly. get yourself a couple rebel pop-rs for surface. great lures. try a shad finish or a bass finish. a chug bug is another good surface lure. then a small assortment of rapalas. match them to the size and color of the forage in your body of water. if you have any flea markets around, those are great places to fill your tackle box. lots of good rod and reel finds also.
Wal-Mart has a huge, cheap sale!!!?
Dang, wal-mart has the cheapest tackle I’ve ever seen when winter comes along. I bought a Strike King Mini-King Spinnerbait for $1.67, Kastmaster for $2.50 & Mister Twister knock off’s (Wal-Mart’s on brand, Renegade) for $2.12 (7 pack). Why all the sales for? The price of the Strike King mini is listed regularly at $3.30, Kastmaster at $4.99 and so many cents, and the Renegade grubs were $2.50 …
Why this big sale? I’m going back tomorrow to get some of them Renegade brand plastic worms … Those are great, and cheap.
You’re local wal-mart like this? Oh yea, Renegade makes crankbaits for $1.50! and Rapala Original Minnows are $5! It’s a bass, panfish, walleye, any fisherman’s paradise.
LMAO @ Brandon … Don’t answer it dude, it’s clearly in the fishing section, if you don’t have anything reasonable to submit as an answer, don’t submit one at all!
Well, the economy is disappearing quicker than hot-wings at a Hooters!
So, along with the “new stocking” premise, Walmart’s probably trying to make some extra dough before the “American economy” becomes the “Chinese/American” economy.
It’s unfortunate Charles that you, (and me & everyone else) are living in this era. Things are gonna get worse before they get better……and I hope we all won’t have to sell our fishing gear to buy bread and toilet paper OR worse!
Although I don’t think much of their worms, Renegade does make a decent Yozuri Crystal Minnow copy.
Charles- FYI: On EBay, you can purchase exact copy’s of Renegade worms in MANY different colors, by the POUND, for an average price of like 5-20 cents per worm and most can be special-ordered hand-poured with designer colors!! I buy stuff off EBay all the time; it has saved me tons of money over the years. You should go check it out….
Which is better? Crankbaits or soft plastics?
I have absolutely no crankbaits in my tackle box. They just seem a lot more expensive than other baits. I mostly prefer and use soft plastics, jigs, spinner baits, and buzz baits because they are cheap and catch lots of fish. Are crankbaits actually worth as much as they cost? Do they actually work and catch lots of bass? Are these baits a must when it comes to bass fishing?
I fish with plastics and a buzz bait 90% of the time. But the crank bait has a place in my tackle box.. When the bass are schooling off the points, a crank bait will catch them faster then anything else. When I see a school working the bait fish over, I reach for a rod with a crank bait on it ready for action and a crank bait with the same color as the bait fish they are feeding on. You don’t need but a couple of them, but I wouldn’t use them if they weren’t the best bait for that particular situation. It’s not that the plastics wont catch the schooling bass, it’s just that the crank bait will catch them much faster. And sometimes the schools will be active for just a short while, then go back down and just disappear. So I don’t want to waste a lot of time trying to “finesse” a school of bass.
